February 2010- Recipe of the Month- Dental Month

We see a lot of you come to our craft/recipe pages, but are not checking out our products.  We have some great products to fit some of your February themes.  We have puzzles and games for Black History Month, Stirfry and Sushi items for Chinese New Year, and string or match sweets for Valentine's Day.
If you are NOT ordering from us, you are probably spending more money than you should with other companies.

We have some great snack ideas  for this month's theme!

Edible Toothbrushes


Ingredients Needed:

Celery Sticks
Squeeze cheese or peanut butter
Thin pretzel sticks broken into 1" pieces
 
Items Needed:

Plate
Knife (for peanut butter)

Directions:

Wash and dry hands.
Take a 5-6" stalk of celery and place it on the plate.
Squeeze the cheese or put a large dollop of peanut butter on the last inch of the celery stalk.
Poke 2-3 rows of "bristles" (the pretzel sticks) into the filling.
Serve.


Toothy Dip


Ingredients Needed:

Green, red or yellow pepper cut in half (make sure you pick out one that has a tooth root look to it)
Container of sour cream
Packet of Ranch powdered dressing
Pretzel sticks, carrot or celery sticks

Items Needed:

Bowl
Large Spoon or Spatula
Plate
Knife
Cutting Board

Directions:

Wash and Dry Hands
Place the pepper on the cutting board and cut in half (top to bottom) and remove the seeds.
Scoop the sour cream into the bowl.
Add the powdered ranch dressing.
Stir until the powder in incorporated into the sour cream.
Spoon the dip into the green pepper shells.
Place on the plate and surround the "tooth" with the crudites.



Smiley Snack


Ingredients Needed:

Red Apple
Mini Marshmallows
Marshmallow cream, peanut butter or Nutella

Items Needed:

Cutting Board
Knife
Plate

Directions:

Wash and dry hands.
Wash and dry the apple.
Have an adult core the apple and cut int thin wedges (8 to an apple)
Spread a little marshmallow cream, peanut butter or Nutella on one of the apple wedges.
Put mini marshmallows on top of the filling to look like teeth in a smile.
Cover with another apple wedge, pressing at the cut edge to angle the smile.
Place smile on plate and serve.
