Fall 2010- Recipe of the Season- Just Nuts!
DESIGNER NUT CANDY BARS
Designer chocolates are all the rage, and can command a pretty hefty price! The children will love creating these to give to their family and friends, while learning about the different types of nuts and how they look and taste.

Ingredients Needed:
Chocolate chips (2-3 ounces per bar)
Nuts- all of one kind or assorted
Items needed:
Small bowl to microwave chocolate
spatula
cutting board
plastic knife
plastic wrap
small bread tin or rubber cupcake pans
microwave
refrigerator
Directions:
Wash and dry hands.
Chop or break the nuts into small pieces on the cutting board.
Pour chocolate chips into microwavable bowl.
Place bowl in microwave and microwave at 30 second intervals, stirring with spatula once the chips look glossy.
Stir until all the chips are mixed and there are no lumps in the chocolate.
Spread into tin or pans.
Sprinkle on the nuts and gently press into the chocolate.
Place tin/pans in the refrigerator for 15-20 minutes, until the chocolate is set.
Lay out plastic wrap on the table and tap chocolate bar out of the tin, onto the wrap.
Fold wrap around the chocolate bar.
*A ribbon and card can be added, or have the child design their own wrapper sleeve on paper and attach around the bar with a glue stick or tape.
