Reindeer Salad
Ingredients Needed:
1/2 fresh red pear 1 cherry (or raspberry) 1 slice cheese 1 blackberry (cut in half) or 2 raisins or blueberries 2 pecans
Equipment Needed:
Knife Plate Cutting board
Directions:
1. Wash and dry hands. 2. Place pear half on plate, smaller end facing the bottom. 3. Place cherry at end of small end of pear for nose. 4. Place the pecans where the ears should go. 5. Place blackberry halves where the eyes should go. 6. Cut cheese into strips and place strips into antler shapes. 7. Serve *
This cute little deer is great finger food for the children and very
healthy to eat! the children will be asking to make these again
and again! (Canned pear halves can be used in place of the fresh
ones--just brush with diluted food coloring to change the color or use
as is for a white deer).
Reindeer Sandwich
Ingredients Needed:
1 slice whole wheat bread Filling- peanut butter, jelly, cheese, cream cheese, tuna, chicken or egg salad, etc. 2 black olive halves 1 small half of a grape tomato Pretzel pieces
Equipment Needed:
Plate Knife
Directions:
1. Wash and dry hands. 2. Cut off crusts from bread. 3. Cut bread in half, diagonally to make 2 triangles. 4. Put sandwich filling on 1/2 of the bread; top with other triangle bread. 5. Add olive halves for eyes, and the tomato half for the nose. 6. Break the pretzels to look like antlers and place at top of sandwich. 7. Use bread crust pieces for ears.
