August 2009-Recipe of the Month-Watermelon Theme
This is a quick and easy recipe the children will enjoy making.

Watermelon Dippers
Ingredients Needed:
8 ounces sour cream
4 tablespoons sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Sticks of watermelon (take a thin slice and have the children cut into strips)
Kitchen Items Needed:
Knife to cut the watermelon into sticks
Small bowl
Measuring cup
Measuring spoons
Spoon for mixing/serving
Plates for serving
Directions:
Mix together the sour cream, sugar and vanilla in a small serving bowl.
Spoon out a small amount of the dip onto a plate.
Place several watermelon sticks on the plate and serve.
Dip the watermelon sticks into the dip, and eat.
Great on a hot summer day!
