Donovan had just returned to class after his summer vacation. The
teacher asked if anyone in the class knew how to spell "country" (one
of the spelling words of the week). Donovan's hand went flying
back and forth until the teacher called on him. He got up and
proudly proclaimed "K-S-O-N". (For those on the west coast these
are the call letters for a Country Western Radio Station; and they
pride themselves by saying "How do you spell country? KSON!")
Little Ryanne returned to school and was asked what she did over the
summer. She replied "I saw shampoo!" When Mom came to pick
her up the teachers asked what "shampoo" Ryanne had seen over the
summer. Turns out, Ryanne had been to Sea World--and seen Shamu!
The kindergarten class was in circle time discussing the changing
seasons. The teacher explained about "Fall" or "Autumn".
The next day during Circle Time the teacher asked the class if anyone
in class remembered what the new season was. Little Janie's hand
shot up and started waving furiously to be called on. The teacher
called on her and with a smug smile on her face she pointed to a
classmate and stated "It is All Tim's"!
Starting Kindergarten for the first time, Mom had taken her young daughter out to shop for the school uniforms. Hanging crisp and new in the closet, the young lady's grandma came to visit. The young lady proudly walked grandma to the closet and said "Granny, would you like to see my Unicorns?"
AND FINALLY, my 4 year old grandson asked me why I was wearing pajamas during the day. I told him the outfit was not pajamas, but a capri set I had purchased. He grinned and said I must have gotten it at Target. I told him no, I had bought it at a department store. He said," NO, TARGET!" I looked puzzled, as I could not figure out why he was insisting on where I had bought the outfit. I asked why and he pointed to the design on my outfit. It was a stylized underwater design and there were "air bubbles" that looked like the Target logo.
